The short version

I'm Ahmed Makkiyah, a licensed Virginia REALTOR (License #0225242357) with Douglas Realty of Virginia. amnovahomes.com is my Northern Virginia real estate guide. This page explains what the site counts, what it keeps on your device, and what it never touches.

The site has no accounts, no logins, no sign-up and no newsletter. It does not store your name, email or phone number. If you send me the contact form, it is emailed to me and the site keeps no copy. It shows no ads.

What the site collects, and what it never collects

The site counts how pages get used. That's it. Here is what it counts:

  • Page views.
  • How far you scroll on a page, at 25, 50 and 75 percent.
  • Taps on contact buttons. It records which kind of button, like call or text, and which part of the page it was on.
  • Which language the page is in.

Here is what the site never collects:

  • Your name, email address or phone number, unless you type them into a contact form and press Send. Then they come to me by email, and the site keeps no copy.
  • A password or account. There are none.
  • Anything you type into the Concierge helper.
  • Anything for advertising.

Analytics and cookies

I use two tools to see how the guide gets used.

  • Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-TZTW2M1TQY). It uses first-party cookies. I keep Google signals turned off.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies.

I use these numbers to learn which pages help people and which need work. There are no ad pixels on the site. There is no remarketing. I do not sell or share data for ads.

Browser storage

Some small things are saved in your own browser. They stay on your device and are not sent to me.

  • Small settings, like a note you dismissed.
  • What you entered in a calculator, so you don't have to type it again.
  • A "don't count my visits" switch. This one is for me, the owner, so my own visits don't throw off the numbers.
  • A service worker that keeps pages cached, so the site still works when you're offline.

The Concierge helper, the red door button, runs only inside your browser. What you type there is not sent to me. It is not stored on a server.

Contact form and contact buttons

When you fill in a contact form and press Send, the site emails your message, with the name and number or email you typed, to my own inbox. Before it sends, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person and not a spam robot. The site does not save a copy of the message.

The text, WhatsApp and call buttons do not send anything through the site. They open your own phone, text or WhatsApp app with a message already filled in. You can change that message or not send it at all.

If you do send it, it comes straight to me like any normal message. The site never sees it or stores it. The only thing the site counts is that a button was tapped or a form was sent, which kind it was, and where it was on the page.

Calling, texting or using the site does not make me your agent. In Virginia that only starts with a written brokerage agreement.

Hosting logs

The site is hosted on Vercel and Cloudflare. Like any web host, they see standard request logs, like your IP address and browser type. They use these to deliver the site to you and protect it.

Who I share with

Nobody for ads. I don't sell data, and I don't share it for advertising.

A few companies help run the site as service providers:

  • Google, for Google Analytics.
  • Cloudflare, for hosting, protection, the Turnstile spam check on the contact form, and cookie-free analytics.
  • Resend, to deliver contact form messages to my inbox.
  • Vercel, for hosting.

How long data is kept

Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

Browser storage stays on your device until you clear it.

Messages you send me with the contact form or a contact button are normal messages in my email or phone, like any other text or email you send someone.

Your choices

  • Opt out of Google Analytics. Install Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or block cookies in your browser.
  • Clear browser storage. Clear site data for amnovahomes.com in your browser settings. This removes saved settings, calculator inputs and cached pages.
  • Ask me what messages I have. If you've texted, called or written to me, you can ask me what messages I have from you. Use the contact details below.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13. I do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date at the top. This policy is governed by Virginia law.
